Families of steel cord belts - Continental, Phoenix Phoenocord, and Flexsteel - ensure excellent resistance to impact. Their number and size are selected to fulfil the desired working stress and needs of use. The insulation rubber has been designed specially to surround each fibre of steel cord to decrease internal friction while ensuring better adhesion to the covering rubber. The top and lower covers provide maximum protection of the steel string. Mixtures of the covers have been specially designed to meet the application requirements and are available in a broad range of types of rubber and tests.
